About Girls Gearing Up
Girls Gearing Up (GGU) is Europe's first international leadership academy for teen girls — and a vibrant, global community of changemakers. Since 2014, we’ve been empowering girls aged 13–17 from all backgrounds to step into their power, develop leadership skills, and create meaningful impact in their communities and beyond.
We believe that when girls lead, the world changes.
Our Goals
At GGU, our ultimate goal is to ensure that every girl — no matter where she comes from — has the opportunity to discover her voice, grow into her leadership potential, and use her power to shape a more just and inclusive world.
We strive to create spaces where girls are seen, heard, and celebrated; where they can build confidence, learn practical skills, and develop a strong sense of purpose. Through our programs, we aim to spark global connections, foster empathy and understanding across cultures, and support girls in becoming bold, compassionate changemakers in their communities and beyond.
Our vision is a world where young women lead with courage, empathy, and clarity — and where leadership truly reflects the richness and diversity of our global community.
Our goal in numbers:
By 2030, we aim to launch 5,000 high-potential future female leaders and reach 50,000 lives through our programs.
