Girls Gearing Up International Leadership Academy, e.V.  (“GGU”) is committed to protecting your privacy. Our pledge is to safeguard any information we collect associated with you and your name, and will make every reasonable effort to use this information only as you request. GGU may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. Collecting and Using Your Information
​When you ask us for information or sign up for one of our programs, we ask for your name and email address. GGU will never sell, exchange, nor give your information collected online to a third party. In our case, GGU freelance staff are not considered third parties. All freelancers have signed strict confidentiality agreements and go through training on data protection. We do not wish to send you any unwanted email, and have tried to make it easy for you to unsubscribe from any newsletter or email we send. If you are receiving email announcements that you wish to stop receiving them, you can click the "unsubscribe" link in the footer of the e-mail.
 
How We Recognize You
In general, you can visit www.girlsgearingup.org without revealing any information about yourself. It is our intent to let you know before we collect any information from you online. Our site is not setup to track, collect, or distribute personal information about you. We cannot, for instance, determine your email address by examining electronic records. We use the electronic records to compile statistics about how collectively our visitors interact with our Website via Google Analytics. These statistics contain no personal information and are only used by the GGU technical support staff. Furthermore you can prevent Google’s collection and use of data (cookies and IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en-GB.

Where Data is Stored
We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. All data is stored in GDPR compliant software.

• If you choose to correspond with us through email, we may retain the content of your email messages together with your email address and our responses. We provide the same protections for these electronic communications that we employ in the maintenance of information received online, mail, and telephone. This also applies when you sign up through any of our forms using your email address or make a purchase on this Website.
  We are committed to keeping your e-mail address confidential. We do not sell, rent, or lease our subscription lists to third parties, and will not disclose your email address to any third parties except as allowed in the section titled Disclosure of Your Information. • Blog. We may at some point have public blogs on our Website. Any information you include in a comment on our blog may be read, collected, and used by anyone. If your Personal Information appears on our blogs and you want it removed, contact us at info at info@girlsgearingup.org. If we are unable to remove your information, we will tell you why.

• Social media platforms and widgets. Our Website includes social media features, such as the Facebook Like button. These features may collect information about your IP address and which page you are visiting on our Website, and they may set a cookie to make sure the feature functions properly. We also maintain presences on social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Any information, communications, or materials you submit to us via a social media platform is done at your own risk without any expectation of privacy. We cannot control the actions of other users of these platforms or the actions of the platforms themselves. GGU collects your information in order to record and support your participation in the activities you select. If you register to download a resource, sign up for our newsletter, and/or participate in one of our programs, we collect your information. We use this information to track your preferences and to keep you informed about the programs and services you have selected to receive and any related programs and/or services. As a visitor to this Website, you can engage in most activities without providing any personal information. It is only when you seek to download resources and/or register for services that you are required to provide information.
